Despite huge amounts of aid over many years, Sub-Sahara Africa still has the highest rates of poverty, disease and conflict and the children of Africa remain vulnerable. It is for these reasons that the King’s Foundation is compelled to use its resources and experience to make a difference in this region of the world.
For nearly two decades the King’s Foundation has effectively used sport to benefit children and young people throughout the UK and Europe and more recently in Africa through development programmes and King’s Camps International. King’s development programmes aim to improve the quality of children’s lives by providing support and implementing sport and biblically based life-skills programmes that address physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
Project partner in Uganda.
Since 2002, the King’s Foundation has been working with disadvantaged communities in Botswana and Uganda with the primary purpose of developing individuals and organisations that work with children, train and develop local volunteers in sports leadership and make a difference to the lives of children in need. We aim to transform individuals and communities by developing sustainable programmes run by indigenous people and we look to partner with individuals, churches and organisations that share our values.
King’s believe that relationships are at the heart of all good communities and so we use sport, innovative games, activities and learning processes to demonstrate this and to deliver high quality sports programmes. We invest in the emotional and spiritual development of young people through biblically based life-skills activities.

Our development programmes have already benefitted thousands of children in Sub-Sahara Africa and we hope to reach out to more children by transferring proven programmes to other communities throughout the world and we are seeking to develop partnerships with individuals and organisations that share our values.
The income generating work of the King’s Foundation covers 100% of our administration and management costs, enabling 100% of supporter donations to go directly to our development work.
